What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are injectable treatments used to restore volume, structure and definition to particular areas of the face. They are administered via needle or cannula and can address a number of common skin and ageing concerns.
These days, Dermal Fillers are often composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that naturally occurs within the body. Hyaluronic acid is notable for its ability to retain water, a desirable trait when it comes to the restoration of the skin.
Some of the most frequent problems Dermal Fillers are employed to fix include, but are not limited to, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, boosting the fullness of the lips and lifting the cheekbones. They should only be administered by those who have been appropriately trained and will need to be topped up after 6-18 months if you wish to sustain results.

What Happens During Treatment?
Before your treatment begins, you will have the option to have the treatment area numbed with the help of an anaesthetic cream. This will ensure that the procedure is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Once the cream has taken effect, your fillers will be administered by one of the members of our expert team. The filler may then be gently massaged into the intended areas of treatment.
All in all, the whole process should take around 30 minutes. This may be longer, depending on your reason for treatment.
Am I Suitable For Dermal Fillers?
Prior to your dermal filler treatment, you will be required to attend a consultation. It’s here that your goals, outcomes and requirements will be discussed in full. Although the reasons for having Dermal Fillers are largely cosmetic, we do reserve the right to refuse treatment if we feel that this would be unsuitable for you.
We do not offer Dermal Fillers to those under 18 and would advise against them if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
It is not uncommon to experience redness, swelling or bruising after treatment, but these symptoms should subside in no more than three days. If you encounter complications or feel that something isn’t quite right, please get in touch with us or seek medical attention.
All patients are given the option of an anaesthetic cream prior to the administration of Dermal Fillers. This should minimise any pain or discomfort that may be associated with these injectables.
